This course takes in an in-depth look at PR as an Integral part of successful business practice. The post-graduate Diploma in Public Relations is for more experienced professionals. The Diploma gives public relations practitioners with the knowledge and understanding of theory and practice to develop as effective and efficient professionals, providing advanced capability in management and practice. Topics include:

PR as a management function;

theoretical approaches;

reputation management;

corporate responsibility and stakeholder theory;

issues and crisis management;

and PR planning.

You will acquire strategic theories, tools and techniques to improve your PR decision-making and effectiveness.You will examine case studies and practical PR examples to analyse strategic communications in action. You will develop your PR planning and integrated communications management skills.

This qualification is set at level 7 NQF (UK). Level 7 qualifications are at a level equivalent to Master's degrees, postgraduate certificates and postgraduate diplomas. Learning at this level involves the demonstration of high level specialist professional knowledge and is appropriate for senior professionals and managers. The Diploma is taught as a part-time course and, as such, is ideal for those in full-time employment. Diploma graduates will be eligible to become full Members of the CIPR.
